Half-cheek bits are primarily used for driving, with the bottom cheek ensuring that the bit does not slide through the horse's mouth when rein commands are given. These come in 2 sizes currently. 3.5" and 3.75" 

These are lightweight bits with small rings to appease the refined heads of the miniature horse and not look to bulky. They are great diddy bits designed for small pony mouths.
